A Tampa Bay native with a passion for helping people breathe better, Dr. Powell is a board-certified otolaryngologist (ENT) who has built his career around one guiding principle: delivering expert customized sinonasal care with a personal touch. Whether he’s performing advanced sinus surgery in the operating room or offering in-office procedures for faster relief and recovery, he brings the same level of precision, compassion, and — if you ask his patients — a healthy sense of humor to every visit.

Dr. Powell grew up in the Tampa Bay area before moving to Jacksonville then headed north to Gainesville for his undergraduate education at the University of Florida, where he earned far more than a degree — he became a lifelong, unapologetic Gator fan. (Fair warning: his office may contain traces of orange and blue.) He returned home to complete both medical school (while obtaining a dual MBA degree) and then his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of South Florida, training at one of the region’s most respected academic medical centers.

Today, Dr. Powell is recognized as a regional expert in sinonasal surgery, specializing in both traditional and minimally invasive techniques for conditions ranging from chronic sinusitis and nasal obstruction to nasal polyps and complex sinus disease. His dual expertise in operating room and in-office procedures means patients have access to a full spectrum of treatment options — often with less downtime, less discomfort, and a quicker path back to everyday life.

His reputation extends well beyond his own practice. Dr. Powell is a sought-after educator and trainer, regularly teaching and mentoring fellow surgeons on the latest sinonasal techniques and technologies.

When he’s not helping patients breathe easier or training the next generation of sinus surgeons, you can probably find him cheering on the Gators, enjoying time with his family, or enjoying the Florida sunshine while playing golf.
